I am a Certified PBi Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I have completed the course work and passed the final exam to earn this credential through Placenta Benefits. Placenta Benefits is the leader in Placenta Encapsulation and holds a very high standard of practice and ethics. You can read more about my education here and why it is important to hire someone that is trained in Placenta Encapsulation.
I normally prepare the placenta using Traditional Chinese Medicine. The placenta is steamed and dehydrated before being placed into capsules. This method has been used for over 5000 years. Steaming the placenta kills any bacteria that may be present and it does not destroy the beneficial hormones in the placenta. Some clients prefer the placenta to not be steamed before being placed in the dehydrator. This is called the Raw method of Encapsulation.
As a trained Placenta Encapsulation Specialist I strictly follow all OSHA and EPA guidelines while I prepare your placenta. I am also required to carry a Texas Food Handlers Card and follow the same guidelines that are used in food service. Some of my supplies are disposable. The supplies that I use that are not disposable are cleaned and sterilized between each client. When I worked in the hospital one of my responsibilities was sterilizing equipment used in the ICU. I am very familiar with sterilization procedures and I am very meticulous when cleaning my equipment between clients.
